Planetary Astronomy is offered in the fall semester at Cranbrook Kingswood. If you are a visitor to my site, welcome. Feel free to look around. I hope you find these pages to be useful. If you are taking a course in Astronomy, you will find hundreds of useful links for your studies.
We now find ourselves moving out beyond the inner solar system and into the realm of the giant planets. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are each quite different from the rocky terrestrial planets we have covered so far. Today, (Monday), I will take us on a tour of the major objects of our solar system using the wonderful open source program called Celestia. I will begin to give you worksheets that will require that you have installed the program on your own machine. If you have not already done so, do it now!
