Here we are in a new year and pretty much in the depths of winter.
There are nearly fifteen hours of darkness at this time of year here in
Michigan.
Jupiter dominates the evening sky in the east, and Venus is about as
bright as it ever gets in the southwest after sunset. (No, Venus is not
one of those drones from some terrorist group).
If you are lucky to live in an area without excessive outdoor lighting
at night, the winter Milky Way of Orion and Gemini is a fine sight.
Are your skies are dark enough to get the full effect?
Enjoy this brief video. You may have a new perspective of nighttime
lighting after watching it.
